G&S PGA Rules G&S PGA Order of Merit
  1. Registration/Admin Fee £20 (Payable on Registration at first event played each season).
  2. Entries close at 6pm of Monday before a Wednesday event.
  3. Entry fees: Unless stated otherwise for individual events - £20.
  4. Any amateur green fees demanded by host club will be payable by the amateur entrant in addition to the entry fee.
  5. For all events amateurs will play off scratch handicap.
  6. Players MUST play in a minimum of 3 G&S PGA events to be eligible for 36 hole championship and Matchplay Championship.
  7. PGA Tournament Rules apply throughout.
  8. Any disputes will be referred to G&S PGA representative on the day. His/her decision will be final.
  9. Amateurs are not eligible to win cash prizes, but can win vouchers up to the R&A limit.
  10. Only Gloucester and Somerset Professionals and Amateurs from Clubs in those counties are eligible to play in the events.
  11. Only Professionals are able to win a share of the OOM bonus pool.
  12. In the event of a tournament entry being over subscribed preference will be given to Professional entrants over Amateurs. Any Amateur entrant unsuccessful in being selected for entry to an over subscribed event will be informed by G&S PGA and placed on a reserve list. If a place in the starting field becomes available they will be informed as soon as is practical.
  13. G&S PGA Committee reserve the right to amend/alter any of the above rules at any time.
  14. WITHDRAWALS
    1. Withdrawals must be made to the G&S PGA representative running the tournament or a G&S PGA committee member.
    2. Any withdrawals must be made in person by the competitor who wishes to withdraw and not a third party.
    3. Withdrawals can be made verbally (in person or by telephone) or electronically (via e-mail or text).

    LATE WITHDRAWALS
    1. Any competitor who withdraws after mid-day on the day before a tournament will be considered a late withdrawal.
    2. Late withdrawals can only be made verbally and not via text or e-mail.
    3. Any competitor who makes a late withdrawal will be charged a double entry fee at the next G&S PGA event he/she enters. Exemption from this will only be made on production of a signed medical certificate.
    4. No Shows - Any competitor who does not turn up at an event for which he/she has entered without any notice will be charged a double entry fee at the next event entered and also deducted 10 OOM points.
    5. Right of Appeal - Professionals in the G&S PGA have the right to appeal against any decisions made against them regarding any of the above rules. Appeals must be made in writing and addressed to the G&S PGA committee.

  1. Points will be awarded at all individual events.
  2. Points will be awarded to the top 10 players at each event:
    10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.
  3. For events played with fewer than 12 players points will only be awarded for the top 8 players with the winner receiving 8 points and so on.
  4. Order of merit bonus pool:
    1st - £200; 2nd - £150; 3rd - £100; 4th - £50
  5. Top 14 Professionals from the 2009/2010 Order of Merit, plus two invitations, will qualify for the G&S PGA Matchplay Championship.
  6. Double points will be awarded at the 36 hole Championship which will be the final event to count.
  7. A prize of £100 will be awarded to the leading trainee professional. The professional must still be in training at the time of the championship.
